Forms that require multiple copies are used daily to achieve different purposes:
These forms can be printed in ONE COLOR which could be black or a PMS color, or FULL COLOR.
The forms can be kept loose and used one by one, or can be put together in books with 25 or 50 forms.
Depending on how you use them, a perforation could become very useful because it makes it very simple to separate copies without damaging the rest of the document. Perforations become even more useful when you need to remove the middle copy and still need to keep the rest of the form together.
Which Side Makes Copies?: It is important to mention that the copying capability of the carbonless forms just works on one side of the sheet. If you print or write on the back of the document, you won't get copies on the back.
Why use Full Color? It's (almost) never fun to fill in a form. Full color printing is often used to make it easier for people to read, find the information and to clearly mark the areas where information needs to be filled in.
Colors help to highlight signing areas, as well as other contents of the document. Taking advantage of the page-to-page copying capabilities of the chemically coated papers used in these forms, a well designed piece and the use of color, filling in forms becomes less of a burden.

Some of the applications where carbonless forms play a significant roll are:
- Bill of Lading
- Invoices
- Pick Tickets
- Purchase Orders
- Receipts
- Application
- Forms
- Work Orders
- Quality Control Forms
- Patient Record Forms
- Medical Claims Forms
- Daily Reports
- Packing Slips
- Debit Memos
